Design Engineer

Everything a user sees of mynd — this site, the dashboard, the run trace viewer — should feel like one disciplined hand made it. You are that hand. Not a designer who hands off, not an engineer who needs a mock: both, in one person, with taste you can defend.

What you will do

[01]

Own the visual language end to end — type, motion, spacing, the darkroom system — and evolve it without diluting it.

[02]

Build the dashboard surfaces where people read traces, manage contexts, and grant permissions. Make the permission screen so clear it becomes a trust feature.

[03]

Ship marketing pages that load fast, read honestly, and never use a stock illustration.

[04]

Prototype in production code. Figma is for thinking; the artifact is the deployed page.

[05]

Hold the line on craft in review — kindly, specifically, and with a suggested fix.

What we need

[01]

A portfolio of shipped work where you did both the design and the front-end code. We will look at the live sites, not the case studies.

[02]

Expert-level React and CSS. You know what layout thrash is and your animations run at 60fps on a mid-range phone.

[03]

Typography fundamentals — you can explain why a line length is wrong.

[04]

You have strong taste and loosely held implementations: you defend the standard, not your draft.

[05]

4+ years of work, at least some of it on a product people used daily.

Nice to have

[01]

Motion design experience — real easing curves, not library defaults.

[02]

You have built data-dense interfaces (traces, logs, tables) that stayed legible.

[03]

You have published writing or tools about your craft.
